31st Annual Christmas Concert

This year our annual Christmas Concert will be as glorious an event as ever. Featuring the Choral Society of Southern California and BHPC Chancel Choir and Orchestra, directed by Dr. Nick Strimple. The concert will contain works by Handel, Saint-Saens, Strimple, Hassler, Buxtehude, and Holst, plus additional works and congregational carols. As one of our most anticipated events, we advise purchasing tickets in advance.

Ticket Cost: $25 or 2 for $40

All proceeds benefit the Community Hope School in Windhoek, Namibia, Africa serving child victims of HIV/AIDS.

Holidays From the Heart

For a 2nd year BHPC will be participating in this Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) program that finds sponsors for families whose children are chronically ill and buys Christmas gifts for the child and each member of his or her family.

Having a chronically ill child has a tremendous impact emotionally and financially on the entire family. For many of these families, this will be the only holiday that they receive gifts, and for some of the patients, this will be their last holiday season. Acknowledging this fact, the goal is to make this holiday season special by embracing each member of the family.

This year BHPC will be sponsoring 13 families. Beginning November 23, we will have 13 Christmas trees on the patio, one for each family. Each family will have a tree filled with angels, and every angel will have one of their wishes or needs with it's description on it for you to choose and purchase. There will also be a short bio of each child's illness and his or her family situation.

All gifts need to be bought, wrapped and returned to the church no later than December 14.

Homeless Outreach

Every Tuesday afternoon at 3:00pm the Deacons, Outreach, and Homeless Ministries serve a hot meal to those in the community that are in need. Our team of staff and volunteers work hard each week to provide a comfortable environment where people can enjoy a hearty meal with various deserts on occasion. All who are in need are welcome. If you are interested in volunteering to help, please contact the church office for more information.

In addition, please consider giving food or financial support to our Food Bank for the Homeless. We have had increasing numbers in recent weeks and need help in feeding these dear ones. Thank you in advance for your help.

International Luncheon Update!

On Sunday, October 5, World Communion Sunday, we had our annual International Luncheon celebrating the great diversity within our congregation and the kingdom of God. It was a wonderful time of fellowship as we enjoyed incredible foods from over 30 countries including Guatemala, Jamaica, El Salvador, Iran, and Hungary! If you were not able to attend this year, we hope to see you there next year!
