Our Mommy & Me program is offered for children 18 months - 36 months. Classes meet each morning and are divided by age group. The Pee Wee class, for children 18mos-24mos, meets for one hour. The Toddler class, for children 24mos-36mos, meets for one and a half hours.  

Each week the parent and child will experience indoor/outdoor play, creative art, music and stories.  There is also time for parent discussion on topics of significance to this age group. Daddies are also welcome to accompany their children during this stimulating time of guided play.

Children typically attend one day per week however an additional day can be added and will be discounted $100. There are three sessions in each school year; Sept-Dec, Jan-March, and April-June.

While we encourage participation in the Mommy & Me program as an introduction to our school, enrollment in Mommy & Me does not guarantee acceptance into the preschool.

Preschool Morning Class (Daisy Room)

Children must be 3 years old on or before December 1st of the applicable school year.  Our morning class begins at 9:00am and ends at 11:45am. We offer part or full week schedules, Monday/Wednesday/Friday, Tuesday/Thursday or Monday-Friday. Extended day options are available. At BHPP we provide opportunities for each child to grow socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively, creatively and spiritually. We strive to create an engaging environment where children learn about themselves, gain an understanding of others and develop self-esteem. Each child is given acceptance, encouragement and respect as a unique creation of God.

Our goal is for each child to develop the ability to think creatively, make decisions, accept responsibility, problem solve, interact with peers in positive ways and to nurture a life-long love of learning.

Each class at BHPP offers varied experiences in art, language, music, movement, science, outdoor play and cooking. Our teachers develop curriculum around themes or topics of special interest for each particular group. All activities are selected on the basis of providing sensory experiences, social experiences and mental stimulation in accordance with children's needs and interests.

Chapel is offered two times per week and provides an opportunity to share basic Presbyterian Christian concepts through age appropriate songs, stories and prayers.

Transitional Kindergarten (Sunshine Room)

This class is five days per week, and is designed for children who have graduated from our Daisy Room or Sunflower Room, and are ready for a focused academic program. Children must be 4.6 - 5 years old. This class begins at 9:00am and ends at 2:00pm. Extended day options are available. Please refer to the drop down menu to the left for more information. 

This class offers a unique opportunity for children to build skills using a kindergarten curriculum. With a maximum class size of ten students, and two teachers, Sunshine room offers a uniquely low teacher/student ratio. 


Kindergarten (Busy Bees Room)

For Kindergarten, children must be five years old by December 1st. This class begins at 9:00am and ends at 2:00pm. Extended day options are available. Please refer to the drop down menu to the left for more information. 

Our Kindergarten offers a maximum class size of twelve students. With two teachers, this class offers a uniquely low teacher/student ratio for kindergarten. Children use an advanced kindergarten curriculum and often proceed to first grade directly from this class. 

Because each child learns differently, children in our Kindergarten class also receive individualized instruction with our phonics teacher, who encourages a confidence in each child’s own ability to experience and understand the system of putting sounds together to form words and make sentences.

Chapel Time includes traditional Bible Stories, songs of worship and praise, prayer, and an opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ and Christian values.  The children will learn a memory Bible verse each week. Parents are always welcome to join us during Chapel.

Early Bird 
7:45am-8:45am
Our Early Bird option allows morning children to arrive from 7:45-8:45am. During that hour, the children will start their day in a cozy way; with stories, puzzles and mellow activities before class time begins. Mom and Dad will be able to get to work or take other children to school. 

Lunch Bunch (3 year olds)
11:45am-2:15pm
The Lunch Bunch program affords our three year olds the opportunity to bring their lunch to school, eat with their friends, and have additional time to enjoy with classmates. Children must bring a packed, labeled, nutritious lunch (no nut products) that the child can serve themselves.

Skills Club (4 year olds)
11:45am-2:15pm
Skills Club provides skill enhancement through emergent curriculum. Each class is designed to compliment what children are learning in their morning classes. Children must bring a packed, labeled, nutritious lunch (no nut products) that the child can serve themselves. 

Enrichments
2:30pm-4:00pm
Classes are available to all ages Monday-Friday, including Kindergarten. For three year olds on a part-week schedule, they may attend according to their preschool schedule. 

Our Enrichment topics change with each session. This year, in the fall, we will offer "Exploring the World through Art." Children will be introduced to a country and an art form originating in that country, such as Japan and origami. They will explore the process and then be able to create a unique art piece.

In the winter session, we will have "Bringing Stories to Life," a literacy-based program in which children explore how stories are put together. They learn about the parts of a story, they become characters from the story and then they pick a story to turn into a play. The children also create simple props and costumes, and the class concludes with a performance on our Buswell Stage. 

In the spring session, we will offer "Earth, Water and Sky," a hands-on science class with experiments and observations in topics such as weather, plant life and light & shadow.
