1. What do families and friends commonly fight about?  What does James say is the root cause (4:1-3)?
2. What do you think it means to be a ‘friend of the world’ (4:4)?
3. What does James say are the advantages of being a ‘friend of God’ (4:5-6)?
4. How would you distinguish between pride and having a sense of accomplishment?
5. How are we to respond to the devil’s temptation (4:7)? In what specific ways do you need to resist the devil?
